Lake Bowen Students exists to deliver the Gospel to, disciple, and deploy students 6th through 12th grade and beyond. Our ultimate desire is for all students from all backgrounds to experience all that God has for them.

Services & Events

WAKE
WAKE is our weekly student service held on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00pm. This service features worship that's not just energetic, but intentional in pointing everyone's hearts and minds to The Lord before transitioning into time in His Word with our student pastors Graham and Dru. We call it WAKE because our desire is for each student to have what they glean from each service ripple out into their daily lives!
D Groups
Discipleship Groups are a huge part of our Student Ministry, as it's the perfect way to get deeper in God's Word and foster biblical community with peers and student leaders. Student D Groups meet every Sunday at 11am in the Student Building, as well as Sunday evenings at 5:30pm in homes for high schoolers, and at the church for middle schoolers.
Missions
Every year, our students are deployed locally, nationally, and even internationally with the aim of growing the kingdom of Jesus! With the Spartanburg County schools moving to a year-round calendar, we will deploy students for one of the week-long breaks during the second semester in 2027, details on these mission trips to come!
Annual Events
Students have the opportunity to grow in their faith and create new friendships through two unique events each year: our summer camp, which we call Uncharted, and a new opportunity for 2026 called AWKND, held here at the church in the fall.

Special Areas of Ministry

WAKE Worship

WAKE Worship is for 7th-12th grade and college students who are navigating a call into worship ministry–whether full-time vocational or a desire to serve as a part of a team. With WAKE Worship, students will learn how to lead worship, grow in musical ability, and develop a deeper relationship with Christ. We believe as WAKE Worship that only one thing is necessary–to sit at the feet of Jesus and worship Him alone (Luke 10:42). Email jadyn@lakebowen.church to get involved!

Lake Bowen College is an extension of our Student Ministry for ages 18-23. This ministry encourages continued spiritual growth for all college-aged persons through D Groups and Biblical community, and creates strong leaders for our Middle School and HIgh School ministries.
